Today has been one hell of a day. I have:

1. Cried my eyes out throughout the entire MJ memorial. Emotional hit number one.
2. Found out that someone across the street from us had their house robbed. Across the street. Emotional hit number two.
3. Worst of all, had the biggest scare of my life so far; my nephew unexpectedly disappeared while I ate dinner and everyone else was watching TV. Cue my mom, sister, and me scouring the house and yelling his name like crazy, then me walking through the neighborhood asking anyone outside if they'd seen him. Come to find out he'd fallen asleep under the dining room table and hadn't heard our yelling. FUCKING EMOTIONAL HIT THREE.

If something else big happens tonight or tomorrow, I will completely snap. :|

What a nice day today! Madoff got sentenced, I got to lull around the house with a nice breeze coming through, and I did well in my summer classes! Great start to summer break, I say.

Of course, now that I've said that, another celebrity will die. I can feel it.

Well, MJ died, Farrah died, Ed died, now ohnotheydidnt is killing LJ a bit. There goes my childhood and stuff in one day!

And I still have to do five papers tonight.

This is a lame, lame day, and a lame, lame week. :(

OMG OMG OMG.

I just got the grant I so desperately needed next year. I don't have to struggle to get my instruments and stuff! Fdkljgkldfg, I am so goddamn happy I could cryyyyy.

My sister has moooved out. Her apartment's pretty awesome! And playing the Wii on a big old TV is amazingly fun. Actually getting the chance to play because of a controller hog nephew is a different story.

I'm actually kind of jealous, because I'd love to have my own place. But that time will come eventually. Until then, I'll focus on taking over my sister's old room and doing what redecorating I can. It's been kinda fun so far.

The utter lack of noise is still scary, though. You don't realize how "noisy" houses can be until someone leaves. :f

My dental hygiene orientation is tomorrow. My sister moves out next week.

The first part I'm (mostly) excited for, the second part . . . I feel surprisingly bittersweet about. Very, very odd. Probably because she's taking the first bit of internet access I've had at home since '07 with her. Hooray for two free weeks of internet?

Eh.

Omfg, I finally had an art epiphany (or something) yesterday. It was so awesome!

I need to stop trying so hard!

What is up with these little super obvious epiphanies lately? Really.

I think I'll start updating my DevArt again, now that I'm finally ready to take another crack at Photoshop and stuff. God knows I have a shit ton of art backed up, waiting to be scanned. At least I'll have something to do with my free time now!

Also, I got new sheets from Roses for five dollars. Yay.

Ah, to have internets again! And thank goodness for it, 'cause I just found my class's textbook for a whole friggin' penny. Omfg, I will take that over 130 dollars for a used book any day. Why didn't I do this sooner, instead of getting swindled by the stores on campus? Wrrrry?

Break was long and slow and somewhat boring, and I somehow got on a Sailor Moon icon making spree. But mostly I just sat there. And stared at a wall. And I kept thinking I WANT TO DO HOMEWORK AND STUDY AND GO TO THE LIBRARY! Which is really sad, if you think about it. Normally, I'm thankful for a break. This time . . . not so much.

Dare I say I missed school? What the heck.

I'm liking this summer semester thing, though. The campus is deliciously bare, and I've had the third floor of the library to myself for a good two hours now.

I am very, very happy right now. :D

I've started making LJ icons of my Sims.

Have I officially passed that line of just too muchery?

Bwaaaahaaaaaa, I loved my break! I was bored out of my mind during some parts of it, but it was awesometastic! And that's totally my word of the day, 'cause I'm still chugging along on a natural high. Who says you can't be energetic off of four hours of sleep? NOT ME!

Just two more exams to shuffle through today and tomorrow! Then I get another break! Yeeeah!

. . . And then I go right back to school on the eighteenth. Bawww, summer classes.

But hooray, happy tiiiimes!

I'm starting to realize there are some things in my life that I can't control. And if I can't do that, I just need to stop worrying about it and move on. I can't carry everyone's burdens. I have to look out for myself, too, or I'll never get anything done.

It feels great to finally have this epiphany!

Saw Adventureland this weekend, and Kristen Stewert? Not nea-ea-ea-rly /Dr. Cox as much of a robot as she was in Twilight. She wasn't amazing or anything, but she did so much better with that role. There was emotion there! And it was a good movie! I liked it!

I bet the director what's-her-name of Twilight just said, "Okay, everyone! Try to be as emo and moody as possible! Action!" You can't tell me that's not what happened. Even when Rob played Cedric, he had way more energy goin'!

. . . Idk why the hell I keep going on about Twilight, honestly.

At least I now have From Dead to Worse to comfort me, yeaaaah. Needs to be May so I can get the next Sookie book and can have some more comfort after I finish this one.

My sister rented Twilight yesterday. Huge shock there, as she hadn't even heard of it before. However, she saw me with the book and said she'd wanted to check it out. Somehow, she liked it, and more surprisingly, she said she doesn't like Bella either. Hahaha, what fate. Or maybe she just doesn't like Kristen Stewart, idk. I wasn't too hot on her, either. Seemed like everything she said had to come out like word vomit . . .

As for me, I can only say ( this: )

. . . Actually, I kind of liked it. Emphasis on 'kind of'. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. I sorta see it like the first Harry Potter movie--it was more of a dress rehearsal than a real movie. The cast needs a bit more time to get used to each other, imo. Chemistry was kinda low all around, I think. Mostly felt awkwaaaard.

Maybe New Moon will renew my faith in the series. Please? Pleeease?
